Enough Already

At some point the constant cute has to end.  The energy, the enthusiasm and quest for fun could get annoying, but Mac continues to be endearing.  Yesterday I was standing at the workbench and looked down to see his head resting on my boot, his favorite rope toy in his mouth.  He’s always ready to play, and is not subtle in his communication.

He loves to play fetch with corn stalks and ears of corn, and actually eats the corn.

Winter weather rolled into the area Friday afternoon.  We were making good progress combining soybeans, but the snow cut short our time in the field.   Charlotte took this photo as we were putting the trucks and machinery away for the day.  More snow is forecast for tonight…

His Name is Mac

After two weeks, Mac has grown accustomed to the farm.  He’s more playful than ever, and is doing his best to become king of the castle.  He has a confident strut and definitely feels at home.

This corn stalk is one of his newest toys.

He still likes my boots - but would rather attack than snuggle.

snuggle

However, he still likes snuggle time - which is cute beyond words.

Puppy

Puppies are cute.  This is a well known fact, it’s not news.  However, the experience of having a puppy follow you around, play by dragging a piece of rope, and bounce about when he sees you, adds greater meaning to the definition of cute.

While I was working in the shop, he nuzzled up to my boots.

I did some wiring in the silage truck, and he was everywhere I needed to be.

What a cute little guy.

He’s most at ease while being held.  This is not the ideal way to make it through the work day, but this was his first time away from mom and the other pups, so I was okay with his need for contact.

Later, I set him on the workbench and he fell sound asleep.  Wow.  That’s cute.
